Through a lifetime of service and leadership, Bill C. Colston, Jr. ‘26 has made a lasting difference across South Texas and within the Javelina family.

At the Spring 2026 Commencement Ceremony, Texas A&M University-Kingsville proudly honored Bill C. Colston, Jr. with an honorary Doctor of Letters degree and presented him with a Javelina Ring in recognition of his lifetime of leadership, service, and philanthropy.

As President and General Manager of Riviera Telephone Company, Mr. Colston led the family-owned business in expanding telecommunications and broadband services throughout South Texas while continuing a legacy that began in 1937.

A lifelong South Texan, Mr. Colston has dedicated decades to improving the quality of life across the region through his unwavering commitment to healthcare, education, conservation, and public service. He volunteered for 32 years as an EMS responder and has generously invested his time, leadership, and resources to strengthen communities throughout South Texas. A dedicated supporter of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, he also serves as a trustee on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Foundation Board.
