Through the Adan Saenz Memorial Scholarship, your contributions will support a new generation of poets, photographers, journalists, and educators facing new challenges head on. Thank you for contributing to Adan's legacy.

A man of many passions and hobbies, Adan’s interests were deeply rooted in the rich experiences of life. He was a poet, photographer, journalist, educator, classic car aficionado, pool and solitaire enthusiast, lover of music and a comedian at heart.

Adan attended Texas A&I University-Kingsville, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication-Journalism with a minor in Spanish in 1971 and Master of Education degree in Education Administration in 1976. As an undergraduate, Adan served as editor of the El Rancho. Under his editorship the organization earned All-America Honors and a First-Class rating by the Associated Collegiate Press yearbook critics. During turbulent times, Adan stood up for what he felt was right and met challenges head on. As a graduate student, Adan participated in a Carnegie funded internship program with Crystal City ISD to promote Hispanics in school administration. He was focused on changing the world.
